"The SportScribe" published five of my poems about running
"We endure/ what we store for:/ carbohydrate caches,/ plied mostly/ in muscle..."
Much love & high-5s to The SportScribe for giving 5 of my #runningpoems #poems a home under their roof on Monday, 2.17, I’m honored & happy to invite people to check out the full poems & much more of the incredible work their team does @ the link above.
These poems meditate on many different aspects of running, from celebrating the #larunningcommunity to watching Paul Chelimo run a hard workout on YouTube, from the chemical process of glycolysis during a #trailrun to DNFing and coming back for more in a vicious training block.
These poems are part of a larger collection I’ve been sending around, Run, Burn, Rejoice, that I talked to Paul Zeidman about on “The Creative Writing Life Podcast,” and I’m thankful that my work in exploring the overlap between my passions for writing and running continue to find wins with more and more outlets and audiences.
I hope the week is starting in a strong and safe place for everyone, it sure is here, and I’m thrilled to share more of what I’ve been up to soon.
Stay mindful and creative and happy Tuesday, everybody.
